Gwinnett County Firefighters rescued an adult from a house fire started by a candle in Loganville Wednesday evening. Three adults were at the home and two of them were able to escape, according to Assistant Public Information Officer Donald Strother in a press release. One resident reported the fire just after 8:45 p.m. and said a resident was trapped upstairs. Strother said crews used a ground ladder to rescue the occupant, who was hanging out of a second story window on the back of the two-story, single family home in the 3700 block of Pine Village Place. Three crews responded to the fire. One crew assisted one person who was evacuating from the first floor of the home while the other rescued the person trapped upstairs. All three crews made a fire attack through the front door and knocked down the heavy fire within six minutes of arrival.
