When a fire broke out at a Buckhead mansion late Wednesday night, officials said the homeowners tried unsuccessfully to put out the flames.
The blaze only grew, Channel 2 Action News reported. It took extra resources to put out the fire at the home on Blackland Road in Buckhead’s upscale Tuxedo Park neighborhood, Atlanta fire officials told the news station.
The home’s residents all made it out without injuries, but officials said the structure has major damage.
"It's a large home, it's a cold night,” Atlanta fire spokesman Sgt. Cortez Stafford told Channel 2 from the scene. “So we have resources out here to, number one, to make sure that the fire was extinguished safely."
