Starting July 30, Lanier Swafford will assume the role of battalion chief for Habersham County Emergency Services.
Habersham County Emergency Services Director Chad Black made the announcement of Swafford's appointment on Tuesday, July 10.
"Chief Swafford comes to Habersham County Emergency Services with experience in fire, emergency medical services and emergency management since 1989," Black wrote in a press statement. According to Black, Swafford holds a bachelor of science degree from Waldorf College, and an applied sciences degree in Health Studies and Fire Science from Lanier Technical College.
