The City of Tifton has now helped collect nearly 500 cases of water and Gatorade for Tifton firefighters. The drive started back in late June.
Nicole Casey, the organizer, said this is the most they have raised in the eight years they've held the fundraiser. She said she could not have done it without the many businesses and organizations helping out.
"I never, never in my eight years of doing this did I ever think we would accept this big of a donation. With the businesses and community effort that has come together, the local civic groups and even individuals that have donated this year. It's just amazing to see that our community is still behind our firefighters," said Casey.
