City Fire Chief Freddy Broome promoted 13 firefighters and welcomed two new members to the department Friday.
Matt Davis was promoted to captain. Issac Harri, Wade Briggs and Charles Tatch were promoted to lieutenant. Josh McBride, Nicholas Bishop, Caleb Clark, Chad Eason, Travarus Sanders, Lloyd Cummings, Roger Chastain, Blake Daugherty and Jay Carter were promoted to sergeant.
Aaron Brown and Lukenzie Absolu are new members to the department.
City Councilmember Sandra Tooley thanked the men for their service and praised their dedication to keep the residents of Valdosta safe.
“The quick thinking of these remarkable men and women serve our greatest needs,” she said.
