Crisp County is mourning after losing one of their leaders, Fire Chief Jonathan Windham, earlier this week. Earlier this year, FOX 31 interviewed Chief Windham and shared his incredible story of how he survived a pulmonary embolism in 2009. Windham had been fighting sickness for the past several weeks and was awaiting a heart transplant. FOX 31 talked to people in the community who say Windham will be remembered for his positive attitude and love for the area. Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock has worked alongside Fire Chief Jonathan Windham for more than 20 years and says it was normal for him to see the Chief every single day.
