In a ceremony that coincided with the observance of 9/11, Henry County Fire Department opened Fire Station 16 at 1575 Kelley Town Road Tuesday. Among those in attendance were Henry County Chair June Wood, District 1 Commissioner Johnny Wilson, District 3 Commissioner Gary Barham, District 4 Commissioner Blake Prince, County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews, Assistant County Manager Brad Johnson, Interim Fire Chief Luther Phillips, Fire Department command staff, and local residents. Interim Henry County Fire Chief Luther Phillips said, “Henry County Fire Department having a fire station out here in the Kelleytown area allows our brave men and women to extend that excellent service that we strive for every day even further out into the community. Every citizen and visitor to Henry County deserves our best, and this allows us to do that.”
