Redmond EMS will no longer have an ambulance stationed in the Gore area. The move came starting on Monday of this week, according to Gore Fire Chief John King. Redmond EMS has been providing ambulance service in Chattooga County since 2012 when Commissioner Jason Winters ended the county-run ambulance service and contracted with Redmond EMS to provide EMS service to Chattooga County. Part of the original agreement between the commissioner and Redmond was to have EMS stations in Gore, Trion, Summerville, and Menlo. Chief John King stated on Thursday morning, “Due to the call volume the final decision was made to move those resources out of the Gore Station and redistribute it elsewhere. Over the last few months, the unit assigned to the Gore Station was in-house only a few hours a day due to coverage issues elsewhere. "
