Eleven firefighters from two fire companies were called to the Queen’s Medical Center this morning after a large tree fell on an administrative building, injuring two workers. Emergency Medical Services paramedics treated two landscape workers, both men in their 60s, and took them to the hospital’s emergency room in stable condition. A Queen’s spokeswoman said no patients were injured. The incident was reported at 8:31 a.m. Branches of the 150-year-old Nawa tree reportedly fell on the Harkness Building.
