An Oahu teen is recovering at home tonight after surviving a 100-foot fall while exploring a popular Manoa hiking trail. Elijah Wong was hiking to Manoa Falls with his parents and three brothers on Easter Sunday when the 13-year-old went off to check out a tree and ended up getting lost on the wrong path. Wong says he slipped and fell about 70 feet before slamming into a tree, then dropped another 30 feet onto down to the rocks at the base of the waterfall. "I felt like I knew I was going to die. Just shocking to be alive," Wong said. Bystanders, including a medic and pediatric nurse, rushed to Wong's aid. Fire rescue crews airlifted him out of Manoa Valley, where he was then transported to the emergency room at the Queen's Medical Center.
