A pair of fishermen in the right place at the right time, save a man's life.
Big Island fire officials say a 72-year-old Na'alehu man fell 15 to 20 feet into a large hole in a rocky cliff at South Point, Saturday evening.
Good Samaritan, Keoni Payton says he started off his day fishing down near Miloli'i, but had zero luck catching anything.
So he decided to switch locations, and stop at South Point.
That's when the unexpected happened.
Keoni Payton tells KITV his dad was the one that saw the man fall into the large hole on the rocky cliff that day.
"At first when I looked down into the hole I didn't see anybody cause he was kind of right where the ridge is where the water washes up, so I called on my friends, like, 'Hey! Call the ambulance. Call 9-1-1.'" Payton said.
Payton says he, along with his friend Kalapana didn't hesitate, before climbing down into the hole to rescue the man.
