Hawaii Island firefighters battled a brush fire in Kailua-Kona Thursday. The fire prompted officials to shut down a portion of Henry Street, between Queen Kaahumanu and Kuakini highways. Drivers were urged to use alternate routes to avoid the heavy smoke and fire department personnel. The road was reopened shortly after 5 p.m.
