VIDEO: Ten people were rescued off a sinking double-hull canoe in waters about a half-mile north of the entrance to Kahului Harbor on Maui Friday. Rescue crews used a helicopter to airlift paddlers out of the ocean. All crew members made it back to land safely. No injuries were reported. A rescue boat attempted to locate the canoe to tow it back to the harbor, but firefighters were unable to locate it in the darkness and rough seas.
