The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a call regarding an injured hiker near the Moanalua ridge Sunday afternoon. Firefighters used helicopter Air 1 to rescue a female hiker. HFD located the hiker at 3:03 p.m. and assisted the patient to the landing on the Haiku Stairs where Air 1 could access her. She was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 6:00 p.m. The two other hikers who accompanied the girl were able to hike out on their own without assistance.
