West Des Moines firefighters are working at the scene of a fire in the 5800 block of Vista Drive. Crews were called to the Sun Prairie Apartments about 9:45 a.m. Firefighters worked to clear the building, searching floor by floor. Officials said the fire appears to be contained to just one apartment. That resident was not home at the time. A resident told KCCI that people started pounding on doors saying, "Fire, get out." No injuries have been reported. The cause remains under investigation.
