Dorothy Dillinger pleaded guilty Tuesday to committing fraud and arson arson during her time as City Clerk of Casey, Iowa. Between 2009 and 2014, Dillinger admitted to using the City's credit card and funds to purchase items for her own use without the City Council's consent. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Dillinger also made unauthorized payments for personal expenses without their knowledge and confessed to burning the City of Casey Community Building on the night of August 19, 2014. The former City Clerk pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of malicious use of fire. Dillinger faces a statutory sentence in prison of at least five years or up to twenty years. Dillinger's sentencing is scheduled for September 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the United States Courthouse in Des Moines.
