The Stockton Fire Department has replaced one of its vehicles damaged in a February fire. Fire Chief Randy Baysinger announced on Facebook that the donations from residents, neighboring departments and local businesses led to the purchase of a 2012 GMC Suburban, which now bears the fire department’s logo. “Not only are we grateful to the individuals that donated time and materials to this specific truck, we are overwhelmed at the generosity showed by the general public,” the chief said in an email to TH Media. “We hope to have more information regarding our recovery soon and will release the details when everything is settled.” The department’s fire station — and many of its contents — was badly damaged by a fire in late February. Local residents, businesses and groups, as well as neighboring communities and departments, rallied around Stockton Fire with donations and other support. Several other departments provided equipment for Stockton to use in the interim. In the Facebook post, Baysinger thanked the Shannon Fire Department for lending a Tahoe. “We will get it home to soon!” the post states. It notes that Stockton Fire still needs to replace five vehicles.
