A Clarinda woman was sentenced late last week on arson and burglary charges. Page County Attorney Carl Sonksen says 33-year-old Brandy Lee Allison was sentenced by District Court Judge Susan Christensen Thursday. Allison was sentenced to a deferred judgment, ordered to a pay $1,000 civil penalty and was placed on formal probation for two years. On September 20th, Allison was found guilty by a jury of second degree arson and second degree burglary -- both Class C felonies. The charges stem from an incident in May when Clarinda Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of West Logan Street and found that carpet in a kitchen had been set on fire, causing more than $5,000 in damage. If Allison completes the terms of her deferred judgment, the case will be dismissed without entry of judgment in 2018.
