Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell reports that private donors have provided funds to allow the Fire Department to purchase four more helmet cameras. The department already had one such camera, but the additional ones will allow for multiple perspectives during a fire. The videos from these camera provide the opportunity to investigate fires, study them and more. They can also be used in training firefighters. Each camera costs $200. They are able to withstand heat up to 900 degrees. Mitchell remains thankful for the community's support of the department.
