A Glenwood woman faces several charges after she allegedly assaulted Council Bluffs police and firefighters while intoxicated in public on Monday, according to court documents. Police were dispatched to the West Broadway viaduct at about 9 p.m. for a call about an unresponsive woman. Police and medics found Wendy Meadows, 38, who became responsive after she sat on a bench. According to authorities, Meadows refused to answer questions, swore at officers and said she had consumed three 40-ounce beers earlier that evening. When officers attempted to arrest Meadows, she pulled away, grabbing an officer’s hair while kicking another officer in the groin, documents state. Meadows then ripped the microphone off a third officer and tried to bite firefighters.
