A man is fortunate to escape relatively unharmed after a trench collapsed on him Tuesday morning. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Halbur Fire Department responded to the scene of the cave-in a few miles northeast of Halbur. A construction team was attempting to trench a ditch at the time and one of the workers, whose name has not been released, was standing in the channel when the walls buckled. When first-responders arrived, they found the individual partially buried in the soil.
