The city’s efforts to build a new nearly $11 million public safety building in the south part of town to house fire and police operations could proceed in December. Details of the plan and proposed timetable were outlined for the City Council Monday. In May, council members unanimously approved a contract for about $611,000 with InVision Architecture of Waterloo to design the building, which would be built on the site of the existing south fire station near the intersection of Greenhill Road and South Main Street.
