Winds and high wind gusts ripped across eastern Iowa on Tuesday. And it made fighting a cornstalk and round hay bale fire that much more difficult. Firefighters from Allison, Bristow, Aplington, Greene and Dumont responded to the fire. It was located in a field and hoop building on a farm northwest of Allison. The Butler County Emergency Management Agency also wanted to thank Dumont and Allison EMS, Butler County Deputies and Dispatch, as well as friends and neighbors. They brought skid loaders, backhoes and a telehandler to help snuff out the fire.
