VIDEO: Crews were busy for hours Tuesday fighting a massive house fire just north of Knoxville. Knoxville radio station KNIA reports that the fire started in the garage at 1293 Illinois Drive and spread to the home. Homeowners said they had just returned home when they smelled something burning and the fire alarms began to sound. They called 911 and no one was hurt. Firefighters at the scene said the flames were hard to control because firefighters kept having to leave to fill up their pumpers at a fire hydrant, more than one mile away. The house is a total loss and that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
