The Scott County Emergency Communications Center will soon change the way it handles 911 emergency medical calls. The Medical and Fire Priority Dispatch System, which launches Jan. 2, will allow SECC and Medic EMS dispatchers to use a new protocol system to safely prioritize medical calls for the most appropriate response. “Our mission is to protect all lives and property within Scott County’s borders,” SECC Executive Director Denise Pavlik said. “The new medical priority dispatching system helps ensure that no matter what the emergency, the appropriate police, fire and medical resources are dispatched in the safest manner possible so that those who need us receive immediate and appropriate aid.”
