VIDEO: Firefighters continue to battle a structure fire in downtown Exira. The call went out at around 2:20 am at Jerry’s Joint at 100 W. Washington Street. Smoke could be seen for miles as the blaze billowed from the two-story structure that was recently renovated. At least 16, possibly 17 fire departments are at the scene, most of them hauling water. The Atlantic and Harlan Ladder trucks are pouring water on top of the charred structure. The power has been cut and fire fighters remain on scene and will be for several hours to come.
