Pella's Fire Department and Police Department are both participating in the Fight For Air Climb on April 9, which raises funds to fight lung disease and lung cancer. A team, which will be comprised of four people, will climb flights of stairs in downtown Des Moines. All together, the entire team will climb 85 floors, or about 1,796 steps. Each team member is assigned one building to climb. Both the fire department and the police department will climb stairs in full gear. This is the third year the Pella Fire Department has participated in the Fight for Air Climb.
