A Muscatine firefighter is asking residents to help him raise $1,500 to support muscular dystrophy research. Nathan Paxston has served with the Muscatine Fire Department for three years and is president of Muscatine Firefighters Local 608. He plans to run in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon this fall to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. "MDA does a lot of good things," Paxston said. "And these folks [with muscular dystrophy] have a lot of difficulties they have to deal with. Trying to make financial problems not one of them is something we can do as firefighters for our community."
