Recently retired Council Bluffs Fire Department Capt. Pat Gregg had one word for an answer when asked what he planned on doing now that his work life was over: “Tequila.” After 22 years with the department — 25 years total as a medic and firefighter — Gregg signed off surrounded by friends and coworkers at the central fire station Monday. Gregg said the department has grown over his tenure, but despite the increase in numbers, some things remain the same. “The men and women are still dedicated to the community,” he said.
