A pole barn at a residence southeast of Oxford appears to be still standing, but firefighters say the structure is a total loss after fire gutted it Tuesday morning, May 23. Firefighters from three departments were called to 2993 Chambers Ave., about 1 mile southeast of Oxford, around 10:30 a.m. to a report of the structure that was fully engulfed. The fire, inside a 30-by-40-foot pole bar, was quickly brought under control. Oxford fire chief Jim Hennes said the cause is still under investigation. Equipment, including a tractor and four-wheeler, were lost.
