A Council Bluffs firefighter was injured Thursday morning battling a house fire. Paramedics took the firefighter to the hospital with minor but unspecified injuries, officials said. That person's name has not yet been released. The fire was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. at a home near 7th and Mynster streets. Firefighters reported seeing smoke pouring out of the eaves, the battalion chief said. He added the home was supposed to be condemned but it was obvious people had been inside it. No one was there when crews arrived. The house was boarded up, making it difficult to get inside. But once firefighters got in, they were able to douse the flames near the back door and basement.
