Sioux City Fire Rescue recently announced the promotion of two crew members. Firefighter Ryan Dykstra was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Lieutenant Dykstra is a 15-year veteran of the department. He has completed his associate's degree, is a member of Iowa Task Force 1 USAR Team specializing in swift water rescue, and is also an EMT for SCFR. Lieutenant Ryan Collins was promoted to the rank of captain. Captain Collins is a 12-year veteran of the department. He has completed his bachelor’s degree, is a certified Firefighter I and Firefighter II, a certified fire investigator, a UAV pilot, an AEMT, and a member of Iowa Task Force 1 USAR Team specializing in structural collapse.
