An Ottumwa firefighter once again finds himself in trouble with the law. Christopher Cale, 40, was arrested Wednesday and charged with Possession and Control of Firearms and Ammunition. Cale is forbidden from possessing a weapon as the result of a no contact order, stemming from an alleged July 2017 assault on his girlfriend. The arrest on the gun charge came after a Jan. 6 conversation between Cale and a Wapello County Sheriff deputy at Cale's home. The deputy asked if Cale was in possession of a handgun. Cale told the deputy that the gun was being stored at a neighbor's home. Cale then acknowledge that he had moved the gun to the neighbor's minutes before the deputy arrived.
