Three local groups are joining together and encouraging the community to support one of its own. The Spencer Fire Department, American Legion Glen Pederson Post. No. 1 and VFW Post No. 3159 will host a benefit meal and auction for Todd and Stacie Huckfelt from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Hall in Spencer. Both Todd Huckfelt and Stacie Huckfelt have faced unexpected medical challenges requiring multiple surgeries. Numerous trips, surgeries and hospital visits across the Midwest have put a strain on the family. There are still a few surgeries required until both Todd Huckfelt and Stacie Huckfelt are both on the mend.
