VIDEO: One Eastern Iowa city is moving its public safety operations to a different part of town. Construction is underway to expand the South Main Fire Station near Greenhill Road in Cedar Falls. This will become the new Public Safety building, housing both the Cedar Falls police and fire departments. The project will cost $10.5 million. Craig Witry is a building official managing this project. He said they are right on schedule, but it's important to have dry weather for the rest of construction season. "This project has been coming along pretty very well. We really didn't get a good start until the first part of May, but we've had some pretty good weather since then, a few hiccups with heavy rain," he said.
