Emergency responders are used to providing help and assistance for people who have been the victims of an accident or an attack, but what happens when the responders are themselves the target of the attack? That is what was tested Saturday morning as the Washington County Emergency Management Agency held a drill for all emergency responders in the county. Agency director Marissa Reisen explained the nightmarish scenario the responders used to test their skills. In the drill an initial call to the Washington County Communications Center reported that there had been an explosion in the welding lab at the Kirkwood Washington Extension building. Multiple students were in the lab working on a special project and many were injured in the blast.
