Two pets have died after a house fire in Camanche, Iowa. Crews were called to the home in the 2900 block of Oakwood Trail on Friday, Oct. 12 just after 1 p.m. Responding crews found a 2-story home full of smoke and began fighting the fire. Officials say no one was home at the time of the fire. Officials say the fire was extinguished using around 4,000 gallons of water. The damage to the home is estimated at $150,000 to the home and $50,000 to the contents of the home. The fire department was on scene for over five hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Camanche Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
