VIDEO: The trial of a man facing arson and murder charges for allegedly starting a house fire in which two people died has been rescheduled for next week in Albia after a mistrial brought it to an abrupt end this week. Court documents show District Court Judge Brad McCall rescheduled the trial of Patrick Ryan Thompson for Sept. 24 at the Monroe County Courthouse. Jury selection in Thompson's trial was just beginning Monday at the Decatur County Courthouse in Leon when a member of the community entered the courtroom and began loudly discussing the case with potential jurors, forcing McCall to declare a mistrial.
