Payette Police says a man has been arrested following a string of arson reports in Payette that damaged a fast food restaurant, destroyed a truck and damaged a trailer. Police chief Mark Clark told the Argus Observer that Brad Heater of Payette was arrested following a fire at the Maverik gas station Tuesday afternoon. The chief told the newspaper that Heater is believed "to be connected to the other fires the night before." Payette PD chief Mark Clark says the incidents began at about 12:23 a.m. Monday when a homeowner at 1844 Avenue North spotted someone pouring gasoline on his trailer home. The homeowner confronted the suspect, who took off running.
