During the early morning hours of July 26, 2017 Gem county dispatch received a call of a vehicle fire behind Emmett City Hall. When emergency crews arrived on scene, 4 Emmett City Police vehicles were involved in the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and no structures were threatened. The incident is being investigated as arson by the Idaho State Police. A person of interest has been identified and is being treated as an isolated incident. There is no threat to the public at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
