East Idaho wreck involving school bus full of kids leaves pickup driver trapped in his burning vehicle

A pickup truck that collided with a school bus full of children caught fire with its driver trapped inside Saturday morning in this East Idaho city. The crash occurred at Skyline Drive and Broadway Street and none of the children in the school bus were hurt. Fortunately for the pickup's driver, several citizens jumped in and extinguished his burning vehicle. Idaho Falls firefighters arrived a short time later and extricated the man from the pickup. Authorities have not yet released the man's identity or condition. He was transported via ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following the crash. Witnesses told police the Teton School District 401 bus ran a red light at the intersection before impacting the pickup, according to Idaho Falls spokeswoman Kerry Hammon.
