A fire at a house on the city’s east side early Tuesday evening didn’t do much damage but it was enough to displace a family for Thanksgiving. The 6 p.m. fire at the house in the 2000 block of Beth Street ignited in the attic and Pocatello firefighters responded in time to keep the flames from spreading. There were no injuries. The accidental blaze was electrical in nature and Idaho Power had to shut off the home’s electricity as a result, authorities said. Fire officials said the Manning family, the home’s residents, will not be able to return to the house until the damage to the house’s wiring can be repaired and Idaho Power can inspect the residence to make sure it’s safe.
