A massive fire broke out late Wednesday night at the Warm Springs Lodge in Ketchum.
Sun Valley Resort spokeswoman Kelli Lusk told KTVB the fire began at about 11:20 p.m. at the popular lodge, located at the base of Mount Baldy at the Sun Valley Resort. Fire crews were alerted to the blaze when a fire alarm went off, she said.
Firefighters were still on scene as of 6 a.m. Thursday and the fire is "ongoing," Lusk said.
Witnesses say the lodge was severely damaged, and flames could be seen leaping from the building.
The Blaine County Sheriff's Office said just before 7:30 a.m. that the lodge was still an "active fire scene." Flames could be seen still burning along the roof's peak. The sheriff's office asked the public to stay out of the area while crews work to get the fire completely extinguished.
The structure is still standing, but damage to the roof appears severe.
