The Twin Falls Fire Department responded to a house fire near Washington and Shoup this afternoon.
The call came in at about 4:35 p.m., when a man called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the four-plex he lives by.
Twin Falls Fire Chief Les Kenworthy said that it looked like the fire was contained in a wall near the chimney, but that the cause is unknown.
He also said that the residents were not aware that there was a fire until they were told by firefighters.
"This is a good opportunity to remind everybody to check your smoke detectors, make sure they're all working, and even though we check them twice a year hopefully, its always good to make sure they're operating,” Kenworthy stated.
Kenworthy also said that nobody will be displaced from the fire, and that he estimates the cost of damages to be about $5,000.
