Specially trained hotshots are among the firefighters batting a large wildfire that is threatening structures along the border between Power and Cassia counties in Southeast Idaho. The Bureau of Land Management said the lighting-caused fire ignited Tuesday evening and by Thursday night it had grown to 2,300 acres in size and was only 45 percent contained. The wildfire is burning about 12 miles southwest of Rockland and the massive amount of smoke being generated by the blaze can be seen from miles away. Authorities confirmed that the fire is threatening structures along the border of northeast Cassia County and southwest Power County. But thus far the blaze has not caused any injuries, evacuations or damage to structures.
