The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s office will begin investigating what sparked a blaze an apartment complex in Georgetown this morning that displaced at least one family but didn’t cause any serious injuries. Firefighters were called to the fire at one of the buildings at the Lacey Properties apartment at 222 Huffman St. around 8 a.m. When they arrived, flames were shooting out of the top north side of the two-story wood-frame structure, according to Capt. John Roberts of the Georgetown Fire Protection District. The building has four units, and no one knew if they were occupied, so a fire crew searched them, Roberts said. He added that they didn’t find anyone.
