Kids recovering from severe medical problems will officially have a new home in Peoria. City council members approved “Almost Home Kids”, a facility specializing in medical needs at a meeting Tuesday night. The company is based in Naperville and will partner with OSF Healthcare and the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The facility will be built where Wee-Tee golf is currently located and should be complete by summer 2018. Council also approved a roundabout for Radnor Road and Alta Lane. The city is partnering with IDOT on the project, and close to 90% of it will be funded federally. The city will be responsible to pay for some of that project. A new contract with the Peoria Firefighters Association was approved by council. The city has been in negotiations with the union since August, 2016 and reached an agreement in January.
