Multiple structure fires in St. David kept several area fire departments busy through the afternoon Monday.
Crews first responded to a house fully engulfed in fire in the 200 block of Main just before 1 p.m. An attached business was also heavily damaged. The resident of the house was able to escape the house without injury. A second fire at an old grain silo about 300 yards from the house caught fire around 2:30 p.m. and was quickly extinguished.
The State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate the house fire. Firefighters from Buckheart, Copperas Creek, Cuba, Lewistown, Smithfield, Ipava and Havana Rural worked to put out the fires.
