Four-year-old Kelsey Mize has her eyes on very specific gifts this year.
From Frozen to Minnie Mouse to a new coat, she knows exactly what she wants.
Kelsey and Mike Smith just met Monday night. Smith, a firefighter, guided her through the store, picking up one gift after another.
"It's always humbling," Smith said. "It's always great to give back and the kids are always excited."
Smith was one of 23 firefighters helping families in need find Christmas gifts. The Local 505 firefighters union funded a $140 shopping spree for each of the 19 kids in the program, a partnership with Harris Elementary School.
But this trip isn't just about presents and toys. The firefighters buy the kids clothes and groceries for Christmas dinner too.
"We try to get them something they need, something they want and something they'll use," Smith said.
