20 firefighters battled a house fire this afternoon at 1115 West Macqueen in Peoria. They were met with smoke coming from the home when they arrived. They later found a fire in the closet in a closet that had extended behind walls and ceiling. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire. Nobody was home at the start of the fire. Much of the home was saved and no one was injured. Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants and the fire investigators were on scene and in the process of determining a cause.
